Why this sucks…RIP Chris Cornell

Of all the artist we’ve lost over the past couple of years, this one hit me hard. When I heard the news, I just stood there in shock. My son asked “What’s wrong Dad?” and all I could say is “A friend died”

Temple Of A Dog, Soundgarden, AudioSlave, his solo material and even recently handling the vocals on the release of a Mad Season live album. Chris Cornell was the voice of a generation. He was the voice of MY generation. One of the main figures, considered the godfather of grunge, the king of the Seattle scene/movement. An integral part of my formative musical years. The sound track to my University days. I never got the opportunity to meet Chris but he was and will always be a friend, a voice of reason and he is going to be missed.

This sucks. RIP Chris Cornell
