New Linkin Park “Heavy”?

So what do you think of the new Linkin Park single “Heavy”?

I’ve seen a lot negative posts so far. I can understand why. The track is definitely not what I expected, especially considering the title is “Heavy”. Some have gone as far as to say it’s an example of what is wrong with music today.

I’m actually indifferent…but that’s how I feel about a lot of the new music that’s currently topping the charts and that’s what this song reminds me of. That being said, I can see how that can frustrate fans of Linkin Park, but it’s not the first time a band has changed their sound to try and follow a trend. I’m looking at you KISS (this is the second time I’ve taken a shot at KISS for this, this week).

Getting back to the new Linkin Park track. I’m going to maintain my stance of indifference. Points to Linkin Park for taking a risk on doing something new and different…but their effort also loses points for not only doing what everyone else is doing, but doing it ‘safely’…not much of a risk when you take the safe route to do it.
