Really? Enter Sandman?

Seems like everyone is talking about this morning and to be honest, I don’t know why. I’ve seen Jimmy Fallon and The Roots do this same thing with other artists, Adele, Meghan Trainor, Carly Rae Jepsen and even the cast from Sesame Street and they were WAY better than Metallica’s attempting to do Enter Sandman with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots

What makes it even more frustrating is I can’t figure out why I don’t like it. It just irks me. It almost feels like they didn’t rehearse this. I’m fairly certain James Hetfield was playing his toy instrument in a different key than everyone else. Maybe that was on purpose and part of the joke? The only thing I actually did enjoy about this performance was Lars Ulrich clanging together little cymbals, like the creepy toy monkey in Toy Story 3.

Anyone agree with me? Feel free to argue with me as well. I’d really like to know why everyone thinks this is awesome.
